Pulling from the shapes and colors of several retro graphic design styles like the Memphis design movement in Italy or the Jetsons, these pieces were a pop-culture take on midcentury hyper-modernism.
This series is another example of my design career and experience expressing itself in the materiality of my art practice. I often use series like these as a way to clear my mind or to trasition from one conceptual series to another. Not initally having an idea of what they will be, I examine them afterwards and see the subconsious limitations and influeces the collection took on

Painting Series:
Each piece was painted with gouache on handmade, 9x12 cotton rag paper. In some pieces, an additional colored pencil mark was added as I was experimenting with textures, cleanliness, and a soft and hard effect.
