As the descendant of Polish, Irish, European and Korean ancestors, some that emigrated and some that did not, I have callings to many places and many albeit consistent natural environments. Rationalizing some of those relations can be helpful in formulating the new connections we seek to build with place but generally I also feel there is an intuitive element to our relationship to land that is easily overlooked in this westnernized, invididualistic society we live in today. I like to really examine the benefits of fantasy, fiction and dream building for communal, and ancestral purposes, to find our way back to our collective selves.

In these works, I'm sitting with the idea of an unearthed and unclear relationship to landscapes that lie buried in our biological past as well as the systems that worked alongside them to order, organize and understand that relationship. I also celevrate how fantasy can open those connections and pull us towards more healing relationships with nature than the ones we're dealing with now.
