Solo Exhibition:

My show, Fields, consisted of works from 2 different series that harmoniously opposed each other. The SF series was developed during my stay in San Francisco, working as a design consultant and living in a tiny apartment with just a few things. This forced simplicity just as the pandemic was starting really opened the door to seeing things a little less cluttered by the normal distractions of life. Playing with a small set of colors and a simplistic visual system really allowed me to explore an intuition-based world and recover from the high-drive, front brain, capitalist tech world of the Bay Area.

The Detroit series, developed after my return to Detroit, my home, the focus was shifted to the idea of contrast and intention. Its exploration of complementary or conflicting visual elements echoes the entangled emotional arcs that define our human relationships to one another, to nature, and our compulsion to manufacture control in our environment.
